Who Wears the Pants? Women Workers in Male- Dominated Fields

Please RSVP for UMass Lowell’s Center for Women & Work’s 16th Annual Gathering at the Well Forum (it’s free but we need to know numbers so we can order dinner!)

Who Wears the Pants?  Women Workers in Male- Dominated Fields

What do engineering, the clergy, the military, construction, computer science, management, and policing all have in common?  They are all historically male- dominated occupations.  Join the Center for Women & Work as we explore the experiences of women workers and students who have entered these fields.  We will examine the issue through various lenses: through academic research that provides statistics and examines the influence of long-held societal values; through women's stories of what it’s like to work in these fields; and through the narratives of those who advocate for gender equity in these fields.

CWW faculty Associates Kim Merriman (Management), Melissa Morabito (Criminology and Justice Studies), and Michelle Haynes (Psychology) will present findings from their research.
